I am a researcher who is committed to advancing plurilingual and transcultural pedagogies in Canada and beyond. I recently defended my doctoral research (December 2024) at the Werklund School of Education at the University of Calgary. I have over 15 years of teaching, curriculum design, and educational research experience working with schools, cultural centres, and universities in Canada and South America.
In my various professional roles, I have acted as a learning leader, Chair of Alberta’s Spanish Language Education Consortium, Specialist for the Calgary Board of Education’s language programs, and elementary and high school assistant principal.
I am the co-editor of the book, Transcultural Literacies for Multilingual Classrooms: Responding to Changing Realities in Theory and Practice and am currently working on a new book publication on innovative methodologies in plurilingual contexts. My research focuses on new materialisms in language education, transcultural literacies, culturally sustaining pedagogies, critical media studies, and arts-based methods.
